WIN A FUNDED DRIVE IN THE 2027 RACING HONDAS CHAMPIONSHIP
The Tegiwa Scholarship has been created to identify aspiring racing drivers and provide one successful candidate with a funded route onto the 2027 Racing Hondas Championship grid.
Developed by Tegiwa and delivered through the Racing Hondas Championship, the Scholarship combines a professional driver assessment programme with the opportunity to win a funded arrive-and-drive package worth over £40,000.
Open to drivers of all backgrounds and experience levels, the programme has been designed to identify potential both on and off the circuit through assessments delivered by experienced motorsport professionals, instructors and current professional racing drivers.
Whether you're a track day enthusiast, sim racer, grassroots motorsport competitor or simply someone who has always wanted to go racing, this is your opportunity to take the next step.
THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME EXPLAINED
The Tegiwa Scholarship has been designed to identify and develop aspiring racing drivers whilst providing one successful candidate with a funded route onto the 2027 Racing Hondas Championship grid.
Qualification takes place across two assessment days at Blyton Park on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th October 2026.
Following these assessment days, the top twelve candidates will progress to the Scholarship Final on Thursday 15th October 2026, where they will complete further assessments in current Racing Hondas Championship race cars.
Throughout the programme, participants will complete a series of assessment modules delivered by experienced motorsport professionals, with performance evaluated across a range of disciplines.
THE ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME
DRIVING ASSESSMENT: The driving assessment forms a key part of the Tegiwa Scholarship Programme. Participants will complete a series of on-track exercises under the guidance of professional instructors, allowing the assessment team to evaluate core driving skills, vehicle control, consistency and overall driver development.
Particular attention will be paid to how candidates absorb feedback, adapt their driving approach and demonstrate progression throughout the programme. Assessments will be delivered by a team of experienced motorsport professionals, including current BTCC and British GT drivers, led by senior instructor and current BTCC driver Josh Cook.
MEDIA & PRESENTATION ASSESSMENT: Success in modern motorsport extends beyond performance on track. Each participant will take part in a short media and presentation exercise designed to help the assessment team understand more about the individual behind the wheel. The assessment will be led by ITV Sport commentator and presenter Richard John Neil.
Candidates will be asked to deliver a short presentation of approximately 90 seconds on a subject of their choice, before taking part in a short question-and-answer session with the assessment panel.
FITNESS & PHYSICAL PREPAREDNESS ASSESSMENT: Motorsport places significant physical demands on drivers, requiring concentration, endurance and the ability to perform consistently under pressure.
As part of the Tegiwa Scholarship Programme, participants will complete a light physical assessment designed to evaluate their readiness for the demands of circuit racing. No specialist equipment or advanced fitness level is required, and reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.
DATA & DRIVER DEVELOPMENT ASSESSMENT: A key element of modern motorsport is the ability to analyse performance and apply feedback effectively. Throughout the Tegiwa Scholarship Programme, candidates will work with instructors and assessors to review performance, interpret feedback and demonstrate their capacity to learn and develop.
This assessment focuses not only on current ability, but also on each participant's potential for future progression within the Racing Hondas Championship.
