The 2JZ-GTE remains a popular base for competition engines, and HKS have added a 1.0mm gasket to the range for building high compression specifications on today's high octane fuels. The thin gasket thickness accounts for the difference in thermal expansion between the cast iron cylinder block and the aluminium alloy cylinder head.
Although intended for high boost and high compression use, the bolt hole arrangement of the 2JZ allows a stopper type gasket to be used in place of a grommet type. HKS have tested it to confirm sealing performance.
