RSE Full Titanium Exhaust Mazda MX-5 NC
Real Speed Engineering's full titanium exhaust for the NC MX-5 weighs just 2.4kg against the 12.2kg standard unit, a saving of 9.8kg and under a fifth of the standard weight. Main pipe diameter is increased to 60.5mm from the standard 50.8mm with 1mm wall thickness against the standard 1.5mm, replacing a standard silencer measuring 210 by 290mm with a 152mm titanium unit, and the tip opens up to 89.1mm from the standard 76.6mm. The flanges are 8mm flat titanium against the standard 2.5mm pressed item, and the flange layout follows the standard arrangement so nothing has to be modified to fit it. RSE measured proximity noise at 103 decibels with the exhaust alone fitted, dropping to 99 decibels with a sound reducer.
