Infinity Design Carbon Intake for VW Golf GTI and Golf R MK7/MK7.5/MK8
Most aftermarket Golf intakes are open designs, and the penalty is twofold: hot engine bay air is less oxygen dense, and when the ECU sees high intake temperatures its compensation tables pull ignition timing, boost target and throttle response with it, an effect that rarely shows on dyno tests because they're run with the bonnet open. The Infinity Design intake is fully sealed, with a frontal inlet air duct housing designed for maximum airflow while keeping intake temperatures at their lowest point at all times.
A single venturi tube smooths the airflow into the turbo, improving throttle response and allowing faster spool, while Infinity Design's bespoke short stack air filter, with a 170mm opening larger than any cone filter currently on the market, sits in front of the inlet tube to create the largest possible velocity stack. Made from 100 percent pre-preg carbon fibre and available in a gloss or matte finish, the intake is a direct OEM fitment and requires no ECU tuning.
