The factory MAF sensor on the FK8 reads airflow as a voltage signal, and it tops out around 5.0 volts. On Hybrid Racing's own shop car, the 76mm Street housing pushed that signal to 4.96 volts at 433.5 wheel horsepower, running out of range right at the top of the pull. This 89mm Race MAF housing widens the path across the same sensor, slowing the airflow enough to keep the signal within range as power climbs. It's a direct upgrade for the housing on an existing Hybrid Racing Formula Intake, not a standalone intake kit.
Key Features
- Upgrades a Hybrid Racing Formula Intake from 76mm Street to 89mm Race MAF housing
- Extends usable MAF sensor range for high-power builds approaching the factory 5.0-volt ceiling
- Includes a matched velocity stack
- Reuses the existing airbox, filter, outside-air feeds, coupler and factory Honda MAF sensor
- Requires Hondata FlashPro or an equivalent tuning solution with matching MAF calibration
Please Note
- This is the 89mm Race MAF housing and velocity stack only, an upgrade part for an existing Hybrid Racing Formula Intake. It is not a complete intake kit, and customers without the Formula Intake already fitted should order the full intake instead
- This housing requires a tune. There is no complimentary basemap, and the ECU needs to be calibrated to the new housing via Hondata FlashPro or an equivalent solution
- Best suited to builds approaching the factory MAF sensor's voltage limit or preparing for a larger turbo. Hybrid Racing recommends monitoring MAF voltage from around 400 wheel horsepower rather than switching early
Compatible With
Honda Civic Type R (FK8), 2017-2021, including the 2021 Limited Edition. Requires an existing Hybrid Racing Formula Intake.
