The Eventuri Carbon Intake for the Toyota GR86 was developed through rigorous testing of multiple configurations across over 125 dyno runs on both stock and tuned vehicles. Given the naturally aspirated 2.4L Boxer engine's sensitivity to intake air temperatures, a fully sealed system was the top priority.
During development, a power dip around 6,000 RPM on the stock ECU was identified - a common issue caused by strong engine resonance at this point. Through extensive testing of various intake lengths, single and dual duct openings, and baffles, Eventuri developed a design that minimises this resonance dip while delivering a 14hp gain at the top end on a stock ECU. With an ECU tune, significant mid-range power gains can be achieved and the power dip below the stock curve is eliminated. The patented Venturi carbon fibre filter housing maintains laminar flow conditions and invokes the Venturi effect to reduce intake drag.
