Airtec Motorsport Secondary Intercooler for Ford Focus ST Mk4
Part of Airtec's expanding Mk4 Ford Focus ST range, this secondary intercooler adds further cooling capacity where the upper grille area doesn't have room for a full-height front mount intercooler.
Mounting underneath the car behind the undertray and fed by a duct, this second intercooler replaces a section of pipework to significantly increase overall system capacity without affecting the original or upgraded intercooler already fitted. It fits neatly behind the undertray and can be reverted to standard, with the kit including Pro Hoses silicone pipes and step-by-step instructions.
Testing
Back-to-back road testing over eight consecutive runs showed heat rejection improved by 41% and charge temperatures reduced by half with the secondary intercooler fitted. Logging intercooler outlet temperatures before and after showed a peak decrease of 36.7 degrees (76.4%), with repeated testing averaging a 72.5% decrease across four further back-to-back runs.
