Airtec Motorsport Oil Breather(s) for Ford Focus RS Mk3
Developed and manufactured at Airtec's UK HQ, this twin oil breather kit is a comprehensive upgrade to the standard breather setup on the 2.0 and 2.3-litre Ford Focus EcoBoost engines, suiting both modified and standard cars.
A machined billet baffle plate replaces the original PCV plate and valve, with extra baffling to reduce oil entering the intake, alongside take-offs for one or two external oil breather tanks to further cut crankcase pressure and carbon build-up. The kit is simple to fit, with all fixtures, fittings and pre-cut hoses included, and lid-mounted dipsticks let you monitor breather tank oil content once installed. It can also be bought as separate top or bottom sections if only one part is needed.
Why upgrade the PCV and breather?
The original PCV plate and valve setup can let carbon build up inside the intake system, forming an oily sludge over the intake and inlet valves that restricts airflow and costs power. A baffled billet plate increases the surface area crankcase vapour passes over, reducing the amount of oil that reaches the intake, and preventing build-up is far cheaper than cleaning it once formed.
