Airtec Motorsport EA888 MQB Platform Intercooler and Big Boost Pipe Package
Following the success of Airtec's EA888 Gen 3 intercooler, this package bundles it with a full big boost pipe kit, aimed at cars running 400bhp+ — particularly turbo conversions — for a complete cooling upgrade.
Intercooler Upgrade
A 60mm core paired with high-flow cast end tanks gives much greater surface area, efficiency and volume than standard, fitting neatly behind the original bumper with no trimming, cutting, or new hoses needed. Tested back-to-back on the dyno against the OEM item, using a test car with a Cobra cat-back exhaust and Revo Stage 1 software: the stock intercooler averaged 64°C, peaking at 68°C after five back-to-back runs, limiting power gains to around 40bhp. With Airtec's intercooler fitted, IAT dropped by 120 degrees, staying much closer to ambient and remaining consistent run after run — shown by dyno results from AmD Tuning.
Big Boost Pipe Kit
Designed for the MQB EA888.3 platform, this kit replaces the standard restrictive boost pipes with larger-diameter, mandrel-bent hard pipes, supplied with a full set of Pro Hoses silicone hoses from the turbo outlet onward. 63mm hot-side pipework keeps air speed high and reduces turbo lag on big-power cars, while the cold side increases to 70mm for maximum airflow at the throttle body.
