Airtec Motorsport Front Mount Intercooler for Land Rover Defender TD5 2.4, 2.2 TDCI
Part of Airtec's expanding Land Rover range, this uprated intercooler is a direct replacement for the smaller, more restrictive OEM item on the Defender TD5 and 2.2/2.4 TDCi, aimed at maintaining performance over extended periods of driving.
Working within the limited space behind the grille, Airtec built a much larger single-pass core, 65% taller than the original, for a 134% increase in overall capacity and a 55% increase in frontal area. High-flow, moulded one-piece cast end tanks direct airflow efficiently through the core. The outlets stay at 50mm each side to suit the original boost hoses, and fitment only requires minor trimming of the original plastic mountings — it's designed to fit air-con models, and non-air-con models with some mild fettling to the slam panel support stays, as shown in the fitting instructions.
