Airtec Motorsport Intercooler Upgrade for BMW 135i/335i/Z4 35i (N54)
An intercooler for the E82 BMW 135i, E92 335i and E89 Z4 35i N54 engine, using a 60mm-thick, proven bar and plate core spec'd to Airtec's own design, for lower intake temperatures and a safer-running engine.
Test Results
At AmD's rolling road in Essex, with a Stage 1 remap, the standard BMW intercooler averaged 115°C into the intercooler and 69°C out — a 49-degree drop, though intake temperatures over 50 degrees aren't ideal for the engine. With Airtec's intercooler fitted on the same remap, temperatures averaged 84°C in and just 36°C out, showing an approximately 17bhp gain from the intercooler alone on a basic Stage 1 remap.
