Airtec Motorsport 60mm RS500-Style Intercooler Upgrade for 3-Door and Sapphire Cosworth
Part of Airtec's expanding Sierra Cosworth range, this full-size 60mm RS500-style intercooler suits the 3-door Sierra and both 2WD and 4WD Sapphire Cosworths (does not fit the Escort Cosworth).
A high-flow, single-pass core with a huge 60mm depth gives a significant increase in overall capacity and frontal area over the smaller, more restrictive OEM item. It fits neatly behind the original bumper using the original inlet and outlet pipes, and can be reverted to standard; an optional fitting kit includes uprated polyurethane mounting bushes to reduce flex versus the usual soft rubber items.
Tested
Voted "Best Buy" in Fast Ford magazine's intercooler test (issue 275). The standard intercooler dropped temperatures from 129.7°C to 49.5°C — an 80.2-degree reduction. Airtec's intercooler dropped temperatures from 125.6°C to just 22.1°C — a 103.5-degree reduction.

As a general guide, this 60mm RS500-style intercooler suits builds up to approximately 450bhp.
