Airtec Motorsport 120mm Top Feed Ultimate Specification Intercooler for 3-Door & Sapphire Cosworth
Part of Airtec's expanding Cosworth range, this Ultimate Specification intercooler is built for track or fast road use on cars running big power or an extremely high level of tune.
The huge 120mm core, top-fed design suits the 3-door Sierra and both 2WD and 4WD Sapphire Cosworth models (it will not fit the Escort Cosworth), and has been proven on highly modified builds producing 800+bhp, including a well-known Cosworth-powered Mk3 Escort 4WD drag car in the UK. The top-feed layout encourages airflow and reduces restriction compared with common RS500-style intercoolers, making it better suited to high tune levels or heavy track use, and the large core is paired with high-flow end tanks and an air ram scoop to direct air efficiently through the core.
The kit fits neatly behind the original bumper and can be reverted to standard if needed. It's available with a choice of the original 60mm or larger 76mm inlet and outlet pipes, and an optional fitting kit with uprated polyurethane mounting bushes in place of the standard soft rubber bushes, to reduce movement and flex.
Power Rating
There are a lot of variables in rating any intercooler's power capability, but as a general guide, this 120mm top feed intercooler suits builds up to approximately 1,000bhp.
