The pinnacle of the RB26 Complete Engine range, built by HKS to Step 3 specification with the V-Cam system and supplied as a made to order item for the BNR34.
A newly developed two-piece piston allows increased stroke and a longer connecting rod while keeping the standard block height. The dedicated 3.0L crankshaft is machined from race grade nitride steel and ion plasma treated for greater surface strength and toughness. To cope with the higher torque, HKS fit dedicated I-beam connecting rods with 36% greater buckling strength and a 22mm thicker piston pin.
Several changes address the extra heat of higher output: revised valve guide and seat materials, sodium-filled exhaust valves, and pistons with cooling channels. A dedicated 36-tooth crank angle sensor and a crank angle sensor for the V-Cam system sharpen signal accuracy at high rpm.
