Model years before June 2019 could have either a B58 or a B58D engine. This intake will only fit the B58D version.
The Eventuri Carbon Intake for the BMW X3 / X4 M40i provides a less restrictive flow path to the turbo while maintaining low inlet temperatures. The proximity of the intake system to the exhaust manifold in the M40i results in rapid engine bay heat build-up, elevating intake air temperatures and reducing engine performance.
Eventuri's solution is a fully sealed airbox with a heat shield lined with gold reflective material to minimise radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. The airbox has been maximised in size with a recess to accommodate the strut brace. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a prepreg carbon tube featuring an internal diameter of 109mm (4.3"), tapering smoothly down to match the turbo inlet. A custom high-flow dry filter with a larger filtration area than the stock filter completes the system.
