The Eventuri Carbon Intake for the Audi 8V S3 has been developed to provide the most efficient and direct airflow path to the turbo. The standard cuboid airbox creates turbulence and increases drag on the turbo, drawing air from a duct that is only open on one side - facing the engine - so it pulls in warm engine bay air rather than a true cold feed.
Eventuri replaces this with the patented Venturi housing coupled to a smooth duct, keeping the airflow as laminar as possible, while a scoop added at the front grill opens a direct path for cold air - giving a true cold air feed and the lowest possible inlet temperatures, with little chance of hot air entering the intake once the car is moving. During development Eventuri tested both single and extended twin duct designs, with the single duct proving superior as it allows the smoothest, most direct path to the filter. Back-to-back dyno testing on a remapped Golf 7 R - the same EA888 engine as the 8V S3 - bonnet closed on all occasions, confirmed the gains, with independent testing by BR Performance on a stage 1 tuned car achieving a 19hp gain.
