So off I went onto the sighting lap to get a feel for the track and also the car too, bearing in mind that I\u2019d never actually driven it before. First impressions were that it drives like nothing I\u2019ve ever driven before; my previous cars have been fairly high-powered Fords and Audis to give you some context. Now I certainly wasn\u2019t expecting what came next, and to be truthful I\u2019m not sure he did either seeing as it was the first time that he\u2019d driven the car post-build too. Not a single car managed to get past us, and we were literally flying past everything else out there on the track too, including some very expensive machinery in the form of a brand-new Porsche 911 and a Mercedes Benz C63S. Now, we\u2019re not na\u00efve enough to think that our car is actually quicker than these supercars, plus we know that driver skill and talent has a major role to play, but the car is certainly very capable when in the right hands.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=3516\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-3516\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3516 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-C63-1024x279.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-C63-1024x279.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-C63-300x82.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-C63-768x210.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-C63-640x175.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-C63.jpg 1275w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Room For Improvement<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>With it being an open track day there was no timing allowed but if timing was allowed then Mike\u2019s best lap would have been a 2:06:06 which is pretty damn fast compared to other times we\u2019ve seen. We reckon that a sub 2-minute lap is achievable with another couple of seconds being gained when we switch to a set of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/nankang-ar1-ar-1-semi-slick-road-track-tyre.html\">Nankang AR-1\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> from our 180 compound <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/nankang-ns2r-ns-2r-semi-slick-road-track-tyre.html\"><strong>NS-2R\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> and with a bit more driver confidence and no traffic.<\/p>\n<div renowned for their reliability and why you see so many at track days throughout the UK.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=3518\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-3518\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3518 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EP3-OultonPark-TypeRTrophy-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" Modifications<\/h4>\n<p>The modifications that stood out to us the most were the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/mfactory-honda-civic-type-r-ep3-integra-dc5-k20a-helical-lsd-differential.html\">MFactory diff<\/a><\/strong> as it gave us so much more grip in the corners and brought so much confidence as well as the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/yellow-speed-racing-premium-competition-coilovers-honda-civic-ep3-inverted.html\">Yellow Speed Racing coilovers.<\/a><\/strong> With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Motionmotorsport1\/\"><strong>Motion Motorsport<\/strong><\/a> having given us an awesome track setup it really did handle above and beyond our expectations. Another standout modification which can often be overlooked were the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/?p=3452\">seats and harness combination<\/a><\/strong>. As we weren\u2019t getting slung from pillar to post in every corner and were firmly fixed in one position it let us concentrate on the track so much more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=3514\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-3514\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3514 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwaimports.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_9319-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_9319-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_9319-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_9319-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_9319-640x427.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.tegiwa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_9319-1920x1280.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve now booked our next track session where we\u2019ll be heading to Donington Park in the middle of May, unless anything else takes our fancy in the meantime.
