E46 M3 boot floor repair/reinforcement

TI-Motorsport offer a thorough and cost effective repair solution to this common issue for E46 M3s. With experience with both road and race M3s you can be sure your pride and joy is in good hands. As well as permanently repairing and reinforcing the subframe mounting points, we also provide a folder with photos along the way for your records/service history.

We offer this service from £840 to £960 including VAT, depending on the severity of the cracks. While the subframe and fuel tank are out there are several common weak points that our customers often ask us to attend to. These include;

November Dyno Day at Ti Motorsport

Roll up roll up for our dyno day taking place at Ti Motorsport on 26 November at 9:00AM! £40 for 3 runs including a print out on our 1500bhp capable 4WD Maha dyno.

A great dyno and very accurate, a stock GT Mustang ran at the weekend which Ford claim as 416BHP, it made 415BHP.

Our dyno days are super popular!

To answer a few questions;
– We can run 30 cars in one day, maybe a few more. So if you are definitely wanting to run your car then it’s best to pay in advance, we run it on a first-come (or first paid rather) first-served basis. You can pay via paypal to info@ti-motorsport.co.uk or with cash in person.
– We will be running at least one rolling road day per month, so if we’re full you won’t have to wait long!
– This isn’t a meet, there isn’t food sorry!. This is a group dyno session. There are pubs and fast food places nearby though!
– Any transmission is fine, Manual, DSG, DCT, Full automatic, we have run them all.
– Our Maha LPS dyno was calibrated last month so you can be confident the results are accurate.

TI-MOTORSPORTS E46 M3 BOOT FLOOR REPAIR

One of the the main issues with the E46 M3 is their tendency to crack the boot floor around the subframe mounting points. This is very common and worryingly hard to spot without removing the subframe. See these pictures for the cracks that can form!

At TI Motorsport we remove the interior from the car with care so that we can make sure no parts are damaged from welding. We then remove the differential, subframe, fuel tank and all suspension components. After a thorough inspection of the boot floor around the mounting points we drill-stop and weld any cracks, grind the area back flush and then weld on reinforcement plates to ensure the car is structurally sound for years to come.

The whole boot floor area is then undersealed and rebuilt. The whole process takes around 12 working hours to do properly which is £900 including the plates. It is less for stripped out track cars as there is no interior to remove.

A lot of customers take this opportunity to get other work done at the same time, e.g. have the subframe and diff bushes replaced, camber arm fitting, or even just paint/powder-coat the subframe to freshen it up underneath. Just let us know if you’d like a price on any extra work.

TI-MOTORSPORT ALIGNMENT & CORNER WEIGHTS

Here at TI-Motorsport we build and run race winning cars. We also build cars that your gran could drive to the shops. The key factor with both is the setup. We have invested in a flush-mounted 4 post ramp, with swivel plates on the front and rear, specifically for alignment so you can be sure your car’s steering geometry is tailored exactly to your requirements. We can do anything from a simply toe adjustment after lowering to a full fast road setup (around £90 inc VAT).

For race and track cars we also offer corner-weighting at an hourly rate, usually no more than £90 in total. We also bring our alignment gear to all the motorsport weekends we compete in so if you need help with your setup then please head on over and ask, we’ve set up a good few cars now and shaved seconds off their lap times.

TI-MOTORSPORTS E46 M3 5SPD CONVERSION

It’s no secret, BMW replacement parts can be expensive. In some cases, such as gearbox internals, BMW simply don’t sell
them. Thankfully there is an alternative to an expensive replacement M3 gearbox. The ZF 5 speed gearbox from non M models is a direct fit with a Tegiwa prop shaft spacer.

The ZF gearbox has a few advantages, they are more common, they have a 10kg weight saving over the standard M3 6 speed unit and a saving of £5-600 as well. The 1st-5th ratios are identical, and since 6th is an overdrive gear in the M3 it is
never used on any UK track, even with the optional shorter final drives.

Here is a list of all the parts you will need;

Well, almost! Working at Tegiwa there has always been one question we can’t answer, ‘And how much for fitting?’ That is until now. With the recent move to a much bigger location, TI-Motorsport has gained a brand new workshop with facilities among the best in the country.
